Ballet...
Ballet provides the grounding for all styles of dance, be it jazz, tap or contemporary. It provides the student with the essential tools to progress as a dancer including technique, posture, muscle development and expression. Following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus allows the student to develop memory skills and to build and improve on the core exercises week by week. Classes are adapted for every age and ability enabling the student to get the most from ballet. We enter the children into exams where appropriate.
Tap...
Tap is a great rhythmical style to learn, it is challenging, energetic, fun and a real skill to have. We follow the ISTD syllabus, and will enter the children into exams when appropriate.
Modern...
Modern has a solid background in Ballet. Our Modern teachers vary their classes to incorporate many different modern dance styles. Classes also focus on the techniques required to execute a routine with precision and clarity for example; pirouettes, extensions, flexibility and music interpretation. We follow the ISTD syllabus and enter the children into exams where appropriate.

"Vestry Tots" A creative experience giving children the chance to explore expression through the fun of dance, drama and singing-together.The classes give you an opportunity to introduce your child/children to the performing arts with imaginative play at its core. Suitable for ages 2 & 3+

and "Confidence through Performance"Building on their existing excellent reputation in delivering exciting, professional, performance and exam based classes; Vestry has brought together a new combination of dance, musical theatre and drama skills into a new selection of classes. ‘Confidence Through Performance’ introduces your child to performance based disciplines delivered at St John's Brookscroft Road on Saturdays.
- GCSE Drama...
The course consists of developing improvisation,
script and performance skills. Practical coursework
is assessed under exam conditions culminating in a
final examination of practical performance derived
from script or improvisation (Edexel). The course
takes two years to complete and suits pupils with
previous drama experience and knowledge.

Junior Drama...
A fun class that introduces children to Drama and
performance. Children learn basic drama skills and
games, helping to improve their self confidence and
ability to work with others. Suitable for ages 5 -9 yrs.

Improvisation...
Develops acting skills further by learning to be a
hundred different characters in a hundred different
ways. An excellent class for actors aged 10 – 16
who would like to improve audition technique and
performance repertoire and explore their imaginations -
GCSE Dance...
The course consists of developing skills in
choreography, performance, technical and
appreciation skills, combining practical coursework
and a written exam (AQA). GCSE Dance takes 2
years to complete and suits pupils with previous
dance knowledge. -
Musical theatre...
Musical Theatre is an excellent vehicle for exploring
music within performance. Classes work on
performance pieces from many well know musicals,
allowing students to build on their confidence,
singing and performance skills.

Holiday courses including Performing arts...
Each summer, Vestry School of Dance runs summer
courses which are not only a fun and exciting way
to expand on your child’s knowledge and skills, but
culminates in a performance, giving the children
the chance to show case their work to parents and

Singing...
These classes help students develop their vocal skills,
working on pitching and breathing. Singing can be an
excellent tool for boosting children's confidence -
Street Jazz...
Street is high energy and very stylised. Dance routines
include movements such as popping, locking, funk,
jamming and hip hop hand movements. The music used
in class is very urban, hip hop with a mix of beats and
rhythms. Classes begin with a jazz based warm up
followed by a routine that can be learnt and extended
over the course of two or three classes. -
